Unless otherwise specified in applicable standards, these tests must be performed at <strong data-start=\"306\" data-end=\"342\">1.5 times the operating pressure<\/strong> and at intervals <strong data-start=\"360\" data-end=\"386\">not exceeding one year<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"391\" data-end=\"844\">However, if the characteristics of the equipment or operational conditions do not allow for hydrostatic testing, <strong data-start=\"504\" data-end=\"537\">non-destructive testing (NDT)<\/strong> methods defined in the standards may be used instead. In such cases, the periodic inspection report must clearly state this situation along with its justification. This requirement is specified in Article <strong data-start=\"743\" data-end=\"787\">2.1 \u2013 Pressure Vessels and Installations<\/strong>, paragraph <strong data-start=\"799\" data-end=\"808\">2.1.1<\/strong> of the <em data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"843\">Work Equipment Regulation<\/em>.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"846\" data-end=\"905\"><strong data-start=\"850\" data-end=\"905\">NDT Methods Used in Compressor Air Tank Inspections<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"906\" data-end=\"993\">Compressor air tanks may be inspected using the following non-destructive test methods:<\/p><ul><li data-start=\"996\" data-end=\"1015\">Visual inspection<\/li><li data-start=\"1018\" data-end=\"1069\">Radiographic and ultrasonic thickness measurement<\/li><li data-start=\"1072\" data-end=\"1099\">Magnetic particle testing<\/li><li data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1128\">Liquid penetrant testing<\/li><li data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1153\">Eddy current testing<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1155\" data-end=\"1319\">According to the <em data-start=\"1172\" data-end=\"1203\">Pressure Equipment Regulation<\/em>, Article <strong data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1223\">2.11.2<\/strong>, momentary pressure fluctuations must be kept within <strong data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1318\">10% of the maximum allowable pressure<\/strong>.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"1321\" data-end=\"1348\"><strong data-start=\"1325\" data-end=\"1348\">Safety Requirements<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1515\">Compressor air tanks must be equipped with a <strong data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1411\">safety device<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1412\" data-end=\"1415\" \/>The safety valve must open before the pressure exceeds <strong data-start=\"1470\" data-end=\"1514\">10% above the maximum allowable pressure<\/strong>.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"1517\" data-end=\"1564\"><strong data-start=\"1521\" data-end=\"1564\">Steps in Compressor Periodic Inspection<\/strong><\/h3><ul><li data-start=\"1567\" data-end=\"1644\">Visual inspection of the outer shell and welds for deformation or corrosion<\/li><li data-start=\"1647\" data-end=\"1725\">After isolating system connections, the tank is filled completely with water<\/li><li data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"1801\">A <strong data-start=\"1730\" data-end=\"1786\">hydrostatic test at 1.5 times the operating pressure<\/strong> is performed<\/li><li data-start=\"1804\" data-end=\"1877\">The pressure gauge and safety devices installed on the tank are checked<\/li><li data-start=\"1880\" data-end=\"1992\">After a 30-minute hydrostatic test, the tank and welds are examined for deformation, and the test is completed<\/li><\/ul><h3 data-start=\"1994\" data-end=\"2022\"><strong data-start=\"1998\" data-end=\"2022\">Authorized Personnel<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"2023\" data-end=\"2134\">As stated in Article <strong data-start=\"2044\" data-end=\"2053\">2.1.3<\/strong>, periodic inspections of pressure vessels and installations may be performed by:<\/p><ul><li data-start=\"2137\" data-end=\"2159\">Mechanical engineers<\/li><li data-start=\"2162\" data-end=\"2201\">Metallurgical and materials engineers<\/li><li data-start=\"2204\" data-end=\"2258\">Technical teachers (mechanical or metal departments)<\/li><li data-start=\"2261\" data-end=\"2307\">Mechanical technicians or senior technicians<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2309\" data-end=\"2428\">If non-destructive testing is used, only personnel certified according to <strong data-start=\"2383\" data-end=\"2401\">TS EN ISO 9712<\/strong> may perform these methods.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"2430\" data-end=\"2458\"><strong data-start=\"2434\" data-end=\"2458\">Customer Preparation<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"2459\" data-end=\"2613\">Customers are informed in advance via email by \u0130nter Sistem technical personnel regarding the preparations and required loads before periodic inspections.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Compressor Inspection PRESSURE VESSELS AND INSTALLATIONS Boiler Inspection Tank Inspection Compressor Inspection Hydrophore (Booster Pump System) Inspection Autoclave Inspection CONTACT +90 532 610 21 66 EMAIL SUPPORT info@northakademi.com The essential procedure in compressor periodic inspection is the hydrostatic pressure test.
