Personal Data Protection and Privacy Policy

In today’s digital era, personal data can be easily processed and transferred across various platforms with the help of rapidly developing technology. Although this provides convenience and advantages for both individuals and service providers, it also increases the risk of data misuse. Therefore, establishing a strong legal framework for the protection of personal data has become essential, as the protection of personal data is fundamentally the protection of human personality and dignity.

The right to the protection of personal data is a special aspect of the right to privacy, ensuring that an individual’s honor, dignity, and freedom of personality development are safeguarded during the processing of personal data. It aims to protect fundamental rights and freedoms in all stages of data collection, storage, and use.

Following the 2010 amendment to Article 20 of the Turkish Constitution, the protection of personal data was granted constitutional assurance, and the procedures and principles regarding data protection were to be regulated by law. Accordingly, the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (No. 6698) entered into force on April 7, 2016.

This law aims to prevent violations of personal rights caused by the unlimited or arbitrary collection, unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse of personal data. To achieve this, it establishes control and audit mechanisms to ensure that data processing activities remain lawful and transparent.

Rather than restricting the processing of data, the law regulates the principles and procedures necessary to enable data processing in a secure, lawful, and fair manner. It strives to balance the right to data protection with the development of a data-driven economy, promoting competitiveness and innovation while safeguarding individual rights.

The law applies to all natural and legal persons who process personal data — whether fully or partially automated, or by non-automated means — as long as the data forms part of a structured recording system.

At North Academy, we are committed to ensuring that all personal data shared with us is processed securely, transparently, and in compliance with applicable legal regulations. Protecting the privacy, rights, and freedoms of our stakeholders is a core part of our corporate responsibility.
