Overview:
As an accredited GWO Training Center, North Academy provides the Blade Repair (BR) training program designed to equip participants with the essential technical skills for one of the most critical areas in the wind energy sector — wind turbine blade repair.
This course trains specialists capable of detecting, assessing, and repairing damages on wind turbine blades with precision and safety.
The training combines theoretical knowledge, practical applications, and safety modules, ensuring participants gain both competence and confidence in real-world operations.
What Participants Learn
Composite Material Knowledge:
Understanding the properties and uses of structural elements such as epoxy resins, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and filler materials used in blade manufacturing and repair.
Damage Detection and Assessment:
Recognizing and classifying different types of damage, including cracks, delaminations, and erosion, on wind turbine blades.
Repair Methods and Application:
Sanding and laminate layer preparation
Core replacement techniques
Fabric placement and alignment
Vacuuming and curing procedures
Safety Procedures:
Comprehensive training on PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage, chemical safety, work area organization, and emergency response protocols.
Quality Control and Reporting:
Performing post-repair quality evaluations, documentation, and reporting in compliance with industry standards.
