Crane Operator Competence Evaluation
TRAINING
Purpose:
This qualification has been developed to determine and certify the authorization and competence of crane operators in accordance with national safety and occupational standards.
Qualification Entry Requirements:
Crane operators must:
- Possess a valid medical examination form for employment in hazardous or highly hazardous occupations.
- Hold a crane operator’s license or certificate as defined in the relevant articles of the Traffic Law.
Qualification Structure:
The evaluation includes both theoretical and practical components covering the following areas:
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Work Organization
- Pre-Operational Inspection of the Crane Machine
- Crane Positioning and Daily Checks
- Loading and Unloading Operations Using the Crane
- Coordination with Slinger and Signaller Personnel
- Quality Control, Environmental Rules, and First Aid
- Safety Rules in Machine Operation
- Types of Lifting Equipment
- Lifting Operations and Load Handling
- Load Lifting Diagrams
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Proper Usage
Assessment and Evaluation:
The Crane Operator Qualification assessment is conducted at authorized examination and certification centers or directly at work sites, under appropriate working conditions.
The evaluation process includes both theoretical and practical exams designed to measure professional knowledge, operational skill, and safety awareness.
Each candidate’s performance is analyzed through individual competence units, and a personal competency matrix is created to identify any skill gaps.
Based on these results, a customized action plan is developed to help participants reach the optimal competence level required for safe and efficient crane operation.
