CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines are used in factories and industrial facilities for processing metals, wood, plastics, and various other materials. There are many different types of CNC machines, each designed for specific machining operations.

Common CNC machine types include:

  • CNC milling machine
  • CNC grinding machine
  • CNC lathe
  • CNC drilling machine
  • CNC boring machine

Each of these machines has its own unique operating characteristics. The machining process is carried out according to the programmed data entered into the machine’s control unit. In today’s advanced technology, CNC machines provide significant advantages in terms of precision, efficiency, and automation. Since CNC machines are expensive and may cause serious accidents if misused, regular maintenance and periodic inspections are essential.

Periodic Inspection Interval

CNC machines fall under the scope of the “Regulation on Health and Safety Requirements for the Use of Work Equipment.”
In accordance with the relevant articles of this regulation, CNC machines must undergo periodic inspection at least once a year.

Regulation on Health and Safety Requirements for the Use of Work Equipment

The purpose of this regulation is to define the minimum health and safety requirements regarding the use of work equipment in workplaces. It applies to all workplaces covered by the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, dated 20/06/2012.

The regulation was prepared based on Articles 30 and 31 of Law No. 6331, Articles 2 and 12 of Law No. 3146 (concerning the duties and structure of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security), and in parallel with European Union Directive 2009/104/EC, dated 03/10/2009.
