PRODUCT CERTIFICATION
Machines consisting of various parts or component groups, having at least one moving part, and used for processing, transporting, or packaging goods, as well as safety components placed on the market to prevent risks to the health and safety of living beings exposed to hazardous operating conditions, fall within the scope of the Machinery Safety Directive.
In cases where the primary risks associated with a machine arise from electricity, such machines fall under the scope of the Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC. A product may be subject to more than one New Approach Directive. In such cases, unless Article 1, paragraphs 4 and 5 of the Machinery Directive are applied, the product must comply with all applicable directives.
If some or all of the risks referred to in this Directive for machines or safety components are covered by specific sectoral Community directives, the Machinery Directive does not apply to those machines or safety components for the risks in question.
