Hydraulic Press Inspection
MACHINE AND EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
Hydraulic presses, which operate using oil pressure, are highly effective machines used for shaping and forming materials. These presses are stable, powerful, capable of operating with small motors, and allow adjustable pressing speeds.
Hydraulic presses are widely used in the manufacturing of everyday products such as pots, pans, sinks, antennas, and many other formed metal components. Operating with a force far beyond human capability, hydraulic presses are indispensable for industrial companies engaged in mass production. Due to the high forces involved, it is critical that hydraulic presses undergo regular maintenance and inspections to ensure safe operation.
To maintain productivity, minimize downtime, and ensure operator safety, hydraulic presses must be inspected in accordance with the “Regulation on Health and Safety Requirements for the Use of Work Equipment.” According to this regulation, hydraulic presses are required to undergo periodic inspection at least once a year.
Regulation on Health and Safety Requirements for the Use of Work Equipment
The purpose of this regulation is to establish the minimum health and safety requirements that must be followed during the use of work equipment in the workplace. It applies to all workplaces covered by the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, dated 20/06/2012.
The regulation is based on Articles 30 and 31 of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, Articles 2 and 12 of the Law No. 3146 on the Organizational Structure and Duties of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and aligned with the 2009/104/EC Directive of the European Union dated 03/10/2009.
